Pocket Living: Housing Innovation from the Coalface
Pocket Living develop well-designed, local and affordable homes.
After nearly 14 years their model for intermediate housing for Londoners is now widely accepted as a valid affordable housing currency and they feel the time is ripe to disrupt other areas of the housing landscape in London.
Ben Derbyshire will be joint hosting the event on behalf of the London Society with Lucian Smithers – Pocket’s Director of Marketing and Sales, and Russ Edwards, Head of Design, as Pocket Living outline other ways in which they hope to address London’s ongoing housing crisis, including:
- Shaping the government’s Starter Homes policy
- Embracing modular construction – and why it works for the company, for boroughs and for existing residents;
- Applying the lessons learned during Pocket’s first 13¾ years to unlock local authority estate regeneration through affordable homes.
