Tuesday Talks - HTA, Affordable Housing Talk and Workshop
HTA presents an evening of discussions, exploring and unpicking current debates surrounding the Affordable Housing crisis, with a view to understanding perspectives across the practice, as well as providing wider context on the issue.
Affordable housing, particularly in relation to the Housing Crisis, is a complex topic and it is difficult to identify or define a conclusive problem without exploring the many strands of thinking around the subject matter. There are a number of questions pertinent to the debate, such as: whether it is a crisis of quantity or of quality, whether the focus should be on the debate around social housing diminishing as a tenure or on affordability as a more pervasive problem, and how have these been effected by shifts in policy over the last decade?
The focus of the evening will be to consider these issues and our role within the process, as well as pinpointing more specific barriers to the delivery of affordable housing in relation to our own projects as a practice, that has specialised in estate regeneration for over 40 years.
