The 2015 Offsite Awards rewards outstanding examples of prefabrication and factory-based methods, products, systems and disciplines that increasingly strive to develop a sustainable, streamlined and cost-effective way to deliver a better built environment.

HTA Design LLP, working with modular manufacturer Vision Modular Systems, have worked together over a number of years to deliver cutting edge modular buildings. We are delighted to be rewarded with substantial success in these new awards. Felda House, a 450 room student residence in Wembley won the Housing Project of the Year, as well as being Highly Commended in the Best use of Volumetric Technology category and Schubette House, a 234 bedroom hotel and 158 unit apartment building was Highly Commended in the Best Use of Steel Category. Schubette House was also shortlisted in the Best Use of Steel Category and HTA were shortlisted in the Offsite Professional of the Year.

Felda House is a 19 story residential building constructed entirely from modular elements manufactured in their factory by Vision Modular Structures. The rooms arrive on site fully finished internally and are installed at a rate of eight units per day. The building is formed from a cluster of three slim stepped towers that respond to the height of neighbouring developments and are articulated by a complex pattern of solid, perforated and glass panels that leads the eye diagonally up the building. The aluminium cladding system is installed on site. The construction lends itself to sustainable development and the building has achieved BREEAM Excellent.
