Planning consent has been secured by HTA’s planning team for a 26-storey building in Croydon town centre for Notting Hill Housing Association (Now Notting Hill Genesis). The scheme will provide 92 new homes transforming an existing under-utilized highly accessible urban site along Wellesley Road.
This small site (0.1 hectares) is located at the junction of Walpole Road (a dead-end road) and Wellesley Road within the Croydon Metropolitan Centre. The building designed by BPTW will replace a five-storey office building with a 26 storey building as part of the emerging townscape of Croydon’s Opportunity Area.
The public realm improvements designedly Allen Pyke Associates are an intrinsic part of the development proposal and will transform a dead-end road into an urban square near the tram stop.
The scheme will provide 45% habitable rooms as shared ownership with the offsite provision of 3 x three-bedroom units for affordable rent.
