Telfer House Approved

Planning approval was granted for 38 new homes to demolish an existing two-storey building to construct a part-five, part-six storey residential building on a council owned site in Islington. In total 26 of the homes (68%) will be affordable social rent to help tackle the boroughs housing challenge.

HTA Planning helped to secure planning permission on behalf the New Build and Regeneration Team at Islington Council to redevelop this council owned site in line with Islington's adopted development standards.

Telfer House, designed by Richards Partington Architects, will replace the existing two-storey building and will significantly improve the existing street scene and enhance the character of the local area. Islington Council commended the design of the scheme in the planning committee report stating that the scheme works extremely well in townscape terms and follows the pattern of development in the area.

Telfer House has also been submitted for a Housing Design Award.
