The Sunday Times Britain's Future Home Competition 2013
In the UK today there is very little choice for the consumer when buying their new-build home. We believe that Britain’s future homes should be about delivering choice. Our home grows with its owner and has been designed to be easily extended with no internal load bearing structure. Internal walls are lightweight and can be easily reconfigured so that rooms can be altered to meet current needs.
The flexibility of our home means that it can be adapted to meet anyone’s needs. For example, our home is affordable in that it can start small to meet the financial and spatial needs of young couple who have spent the majority of their money on purchasing the land. As time progresses and the new homeowners' financial position improves and the opportunity to start a family becomes a reality, the home can grow to add rooms. As the couple moves into retirement, their home offers the option for further modification. Self contained apartments can be added to provide rental income during retirement. In essence, a home for everyone.
