BSc (Hons) DipArch ARB

Associate, Senior Architect

Andrew joined HTA in 2009 and has gained extensive knowledge and wide-ranging experience in residential and mixed-use projects at various stages and complexities from initial concept designs through to technical and construction stages.

Andrew takes a leading role on projects carefully considering the physical context of every site, interpreting historic narratives and particular qualities of space and light into appropriate forms and materials – all the time balancing these against economic constraints and commercial value.

Andrew is currently project architect for Belmont Street, Camden, delivering 115 new homes on a constrained site for client Vistry Partnerships. The proposal is formed from three distinct buildings that each respond to their immediate surroundings and allow for a planted courtyard space at the heart of the site. A detailed planning application will be submitted in Summer 2020.

Andrew is also leading a detailed planning application for a mixed-use proposal for Stanley Road, Ealing, for client Henley Space. The land is designated a Locally Strategic Industrial Site (LSIS), therefore the proposal will seek to intensify the industrial capacity of the site by providing new purpose built industrial floorspace at lower levels with on-site servicing and car parking whilst providing new homes above. An updated scheme proposal will be submitted in Summer 2020.

Other key projects include:

Morrisons Site, Brentford – Working for clients Essential Living and then subsequently L&Q, Andrew led the delivery of a detailed planning application for the redevelopment of an existing highly constrained supermarket site located on Brentford High Street. The proposal provides 221 homes and associated amenity spaces across two mid-rise blocks, as well as over 4000m² of commercial floor space at ground floor focused around a public square. The scheme will help to repair the high street frontage and reinstate a historic route through the site opening up and framing the view of St Paul’s Church.

Rochester Riverside, Kent – Working for clients Countryside Properties and Hyde Housing Association, Andrew took a leading role in delivering the competition winning masterplan for Rochester Riverside in Medway, Kent. HTA developed the masterplan through a successful competitive bid process and continued to work collaboratively with Medway Council to refine the masterplan, submitting the shared vison for the site as a hybrid planning, receiving planning approval in October 2017. The masterplan is led by a strong public realm strategy creating links between the historic town and the River Medway. Streets and public spaces focus on river views as well as the unique series of creek inlets with distinctive salt marsh landscapes.

Olympic Office Centre, Wembley – Andrew successfully led the delivery of a detailed planning application for the redevelopment of an existing office site located in Wembley Park for client Network Homes. The proposed scheme will provide 253 new homes in buildings ranging in height from 13-21 storeys, as well as 1000m² of new commercial floor space at ground floor and a range of shared amenity spaces including rooftop terraces with commanding views over Olympic Way and of Wembley Stadium.
