Dulcie Foster Finn

Architectural Assistant, Part I

BA (Hons) Architecture

Dulcie began working at HTA in September 2017 after graduating with a degree in Architecture from The University of Sheffield. During her degree she worked on a variety of projects ranging from large scale public buildings such as a Community Library, Photography Centre and School of Fashion, to residential projects including a social housing development in Sheffield. Throughout her studies Dulcie also developed a keen interest in inclusivity and diversity within architectural education and practice. This culminated in her third year dissertation which considered to what extent a feminist approach to the teaching and practice of architecture can increase inclusivity and diversity.

While at HTA Dulcie has worked on the regeneration of the Joyce Avenue and Snell's Park Estate in North London where she was primarily involved in early stage masterplanning. She was also involved in resident consultation including door-knocking and a consultation event, subsequently using the information to create diagrams and other infographics.

Dulcie worked on West Green Place, a residential project in North London. She predominantly worked on the external and internal material specification for both apartments and houses, including material sourcing, 3D printing and also producing interior models and visualisations. She also worked on putting together an Enabling Works Package for the project.

In addition, Dulcie worked on 295 Holloway Road which is a modular student accommodation building currently under construction in Islington, London. During this project she produced external visualisations as well as working on the Planning Conditions and Working Drawings packages.

Dulcie also worked on the Maidenhead bid, a masterplan for 2000 homes on a site including an existing golf course and mature landscape. She produced both house type visualisations and masterplan diagrams which went into the final bid document.

Dulcie is currently working on Yorke Drive, an estate regeneration in Newark, Nottinghamshire. The project is currently at pre-planning stage and Dulcie has been involved in the community consultation programme including resident workshops and exhibitions. Dulcie has also been working on designing and testing emerging masterplan options for the estate and neighbouring playing fields.
