Laura Cumming-Sare

Associate, Senior Graphic Designer

PGCert in Book Art, BA(Hons) in Fine Art Sculpture with Anatomy

Laura Joined HTA Design as a Senior Graphic Designer in 2013. Since then, she has been working within Communications to provide innovative design solutions within the built environment. Her work explores relationships between the user and the building through design, engagement, physical and digital.

Laura’s mixed background in both public and private sectors totals over 16 years. She started her career creating apparel designs for high street fashion including Topshop and River Island. This introduced her to a fast paced environment with seasonal influences. After several years in fashion, she retrained in Graphic Design and Book Art whilst also working at Metropolitan Housing part-time. Here she got a taste for the built environment and soon turned full-time. At Metropolitan, Laura developed her business skills and client relations, whilst building on technical skills and design thinking. She created internal and external communications including annual reports and marketing and was responsible for the rebrand in 2009. The project was a staff and resident led project through engagement and workshops.

Laura then moved into Advertising for a while where she worked with clients such as Cadbury’s, Kenco and Tesco, getting her used to pitching and incredibly tight deadlines whilst having to maintain high standards of design, artwork and retouching.

Since joining HTA she has developed her design and business skills further and takes great interest in User Experience through physical and digital environments.

Her prior experience includes; apparel, corporate, print, brand activation, experiential, branding, digital, mobile, OOH, BTL, POS, B2B, B2C and FMCG. .

At HTA, Laura helps to manage the communications team with Lucy Smith which is based in both our London and Scotland offices.
