Richard Foxley

BArch(Hons) DipArch MA ARB

Associate Partner, Senior Architect

Richard joined HTA in 2010 as an Architect and is now a Senior Associate and Senior Architect who helps run our Edinburgh office, overseeing the portfolio of projects delivered from Edinburgh and managing the project teams. He has extensive experience leading projects through all stages of design and delivery with particular construction delivery expertise.

Richard originally joined HTA to deliver the competition-winning bid for the Castleward masterplan in Derby and in the decade since has been responsible for the design and delivery of a wide range of residential & mixed-use projects across the country with a particular focus on masterplanning and regeneration projects. This has given him significant experience communicating not only with clients and stakeholders, but planning departments, statutory authorities and community groups too, whilst also leading and collaborating with complex design teams.

For the Castleward masterplan, Richard led the construction of Phase 1 works and helped the client achieve the country’s first award of BREEAM Communities certification and he continues to oversee the ongoing phases of construction. He has also been involved in delivering multiple phases of Council-led estate regeneration projects at Muirton in Perth and Mill O Mains in Dundee, all of which has helped HTA develop a distinct understanding of community-led regeneration and consultation schemes whilst giving Richard significant experience in delivery of complicated multi-phase masterplan projects.

Richard has been heavily involved in developing HTA’s industry-leading experience in design and construction of bespoke Build-To-Rent schemes as well as utilising off-site modular construction. After overseeing the development of the largest planning application of it’s time for the Greenford Quay masterplan in Ealing, Richard also led the delivery of the first residential building, Tillermans Court, which was delivered entirely through off-site construction. He continues to oversee the design development and has moved to lead the Client Monitoring Services for the construction of the remaining blocks.

Most recently Richard has also taken on the design development of a large-scale Build-to-Rent led, mixed-use regeneration project in Dublin which will continue to develop HTA’s experience in this area.
