Sandy joined HTA in 1998 and now runs our growing Edinburgh office. He is responsible for upholding design quality across both the Edinburgh and London offices, working with our department heads to achieve a high quality, integrated approach to Urban Design, Architecture, Sustainability & Graphic Design. Together with our clients, the team at HTA strives to achieve our Placemaking objectives.

Sandy has overseen the development of HTA’s approach to urban design and architecture, an approach that has been successful across projects in central London and throughout the UK. Our design approach has been tested with local authorities, communities, developers and house builders and aims to use design to connect customers with excellent homes and places.

He has led HTA’s design work in the Private Rent Sector, developing new products for clients in different locations around the country. He is now leading the design work on Custom Build.

Sandy has over 15 years experience of coordinating the practice’s specialist design expertise on housing-led development and regeneration. His core interest lies in developing and refining the concepts that contribute to HTA’s overall Placemaking vision.
