Rory Bergin

Head of Sustainability and Innovation

Rory’s role is to develop excellence in sustainable and innovative design, enabling HTA to achieve its objective of leading the field in sustainable placemaking. Most recently he has led the design team on the planning submission for Hanham Hall, the UK’s current largest zero carbon housing development.

Leading a team of experts in various fields including SAP, EcoHomes, Code for Sustainable Homes assessors, PassivHaus and sustainable communities, he works on all projects aiming to achieve a high level of sustainability.

He is a member of the Sustainable Development Commission Panel which advises Government on sustainable development policy. Rory has wide experience of Modern Methods of Construction projects including the Design for Manufacture and Millennium Village initiatives.

He has an input into most projects, overseeing the practice’s implementation of sustainable design and appropriate tools. Rory is a certified Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor and a certified SAP assessor.
