As part of The Aylesbury Voices exhibition for London Festival of Architecture Our Cube CIC hosted a panel discussion at the new Walworth Town Hall to explore the value of creative collaboration within estate regeneration
Chaired by Communications Consultant Diane Hutchinson, the panel brought together artists, community members, architects, and developers related to the regeneration of The Aylesbury Estate.
The discussion was wide ranging, covering perspectives from multiple different collaborators. Young people who had grown up on the estate and explored how the youth group, consultation period, and community outreach projects had improved their lived experience.
Particular efforts such as the Assemble & Join workshops and the bricks designed by the young people on the estate were highlighted as being successful in creating a sense of ownership and involvement in the community.
