The Design for Manufacture government initiative challenged the construction industry to efficiently and innovatively build a quality sustainable home for £60K. HTA teamed up with @barratthomes_ taking on two sites – Allerton Bywater and Upton D2.
Use of non-traditional construction was not encouraged but all the competition homes used MMC indicating the widespread understanding of their benefits already in the industry, and is again today being proven as offsite manufacture becomes more extensive.
