How do we support the government to deliver more affordable housing?

#AA4AH hosted a workshop for its supporter’s at HTA Design’s studio to develop the campaign’s five affordable housing priorities into detailed proposals for our new Labour government.

Attracting architects, planners, and built environment professionals, AA4AH utilised the group’s collective practitioner experience to define deliverable proposals to impact the creation of better and more affordable housing.

Ideas included:

• Shifting perception to view housing as infrastructure
• Creating a national procurement model
• Capturing land value from the grey belt to generate Community Led Housing
• Whether Passivhaus accreditation should be enforced across all affordable housing
• Empowering local authorities to do more cross working to deliver more affordable housing
• Avoiding waste at all levels of procurement
