Greenford Quay has been selected as one of the winners for the CTBUH Urban Habitat Award for its exceptional contribution to the environment and community. Transforming a derelict industrial site along the Grand Union Canal, this development has revitalised Ealing with 2,118 new homes, commercial spaces, and community hubs. A new pedestrian footbridge connects the site to over 190,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, previously inaccessible to the wider community, while 27-hectares of revitalised public realm prioritises residents’ well-being and plays a crucial role in the areas wider regeneration. A new public plaza, featuring dancing fountains, an amphitheater, and a nature-rich landscape along the restored canal banks serve as popular community gathering spots for residents and visitors alike. Greenford Quay amphitheater and community spaces host a variety of events, including cinema screenings, music festivals, and food markets.
