HTA has been shortlisted in the Landscape Institute Awards 25!

8 Aug 2025

With this year’s theme of ‘connecting people, place nature’, we’re pleased to have been shortlisted in the Excellence in Biodiversity Conservation & Enhancement category for Eden Dock and in the Small Garden & Landscape Design Category for The Paddock.

The LI Awards represent the best of the landscape profession and celebrate people, place and nature in the UK and internationally. The 2025 awards particularly highlight the significant role landscape professionals play in creating sustainable, inclusive, resilient environments.

Eden Dock, for Canary Wharf Group and designed by Howells with landscape design by HTA, is a 1.55-hectare site that exemplifies nature-led placemaking and marks a transformative step in the area’s evolution.

Eden Dock’ environmental benefits are evident with 55% biodiversity net gain within the dock’s boundary, facilitated by 770 sqm of floating islands and aquatic shelves that provide year-round habitats for pollinators, birds, and aquatic life.

The Paddock is the first step in a wider regeneration strategy for Chatham’s town centre. It introduces a richly planted and inclusive public garden that reconnects key civic and cultural landmarks, including the High Street, Fort Amherst and the Brook Theatre. By reinstating historic routes and creating a layered, biodiverse landscape, the design supports social life, ecological resilience and a renewed sense of place rooted in the town’s heritage.

HTA are proud to create beautiful and biodiverse landscapes for people and nature to enjoy.
