HTA, Lovell and Sutton Council to lead on Elm Grove regeneration

12 Sep 2024

HTA, Lovell and Sutton Council’s regeneration of Elm Grove Estate has entered the detailed planning stage, with work estimated to start in summer 2025, subject to planning.

The project will provide up to 300 sustainable homes for existing and new residents. The homes will be designed to respond to the residents’ varying needs and will range from 1 to 3 bedrooms, with 50% of these being affordable.

The scheme will build on the area’s character, support the high street with public realm improvements and create a distinctive identity.

Safe streets and public spaces will be prioritised, with attractive landscaping that can be enjoyed across generations. The development will feature new play areas, walkable connections from the estate to the town centre and feature trees, planting and flowering.

“HTA are excited to be working with Lovell as preferred bidder to realise the estate regeneration of Elm Grove for its residents, the Council and the wider Sutton town centre community. Fantastic mixed tenure homes and biodiverse landscaped spaces will transform the neighbourhood and enhance the setting of Sutton’s historic High Street. We look forward to engaging with the local community.” Paul Maddock, Senior Associate, HTA Design
