The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and the Supply Chain Sustainability School have just published a pivotal report on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) for Housing!

This comprehensive report outlines critical long-term policy goals designed to support the Labour Government in formulating a clear, sustainable strategy for MMC in the housing sector.

Key stakeholders, including housing providers, architects, local authorities, MMC suppliers, trade bodies, and government departments like BEIS and the Greater London Authority, have collaborated to propose solutions that address the pressing need for affordable, sustainable, and high-quality homes.

Our policy recommendations aim to:
• Boost productivity and speed of delivery
• Reduce outturn costs and embodied carbon
• Create societal benefits through employment and training opportunities.

The report also highlights:
• The need for digitisation and improved productivity in the construction sector.
• How lessons from global economies can accelerate the adoption of MMC in the UK.
• Support for the National Housing Federation’s call for new towns and settlements to include homes for social rent, prioritising MMC for rapid, high-quality construction.
