Planning permission for Milton Heights

29 Nov 2024

We’re excited to share our first collaboration with Greencore Homes, a client that is both the developer and offsite manufacturer of Milton Heights.

Milton Heights, which recently got planning permission, reuses brownfield land, utilising existing vehicle access and hard-standing areas to protect the mature woodland that frames the site. By minimising roads and car space, we’ve incorporated biodiversity improvements and a network of sustainable drainage. In addition, we integrated a play trail and nature walk, opening up this beautiful setting for the surrounding community to enjoy

Each home is designed with carefully arranged windows and doors around the perimeter, ensuring every home has its own front door, even for the flats. Homes vary in cladding, roof orientation, window frames, and doors to provide individuality.

The homes are built with Greencore’s Biond panel, a closed timber frame insulated with natural materials from sustainable forests, offering low embodied carbon. Paired with triple glazing, heat recovery ventilation, and solar photovoltaics, these homes are energy-efficient and targeted for 100% renewable energy.

“This is a significant milestone in the delivery of a new climate positive neighbourhood that’s putting connection and community at the centre of its regenerative development. Our design for Milton Heights puts the existing landscape and ecology first, to create a site framed by generous open spaces and new wooded connections. Through this, our proposal welcomes the surrounding community in, all while supporting a biodiverse and climate resilient future.”
