Planning permission granted for Friary Park

We’re proud to have collaborated with Peabody and Mount Anvil on the design for the final phase of the Friary Park estate regeneration in Acton, west London.

Our design for Phase 3 builds on the established principles of the existing masterplan, introducing a refined appearance strategy, an improved public realm offer, a brand-new community centre. The scheme delivers 693 new homes across a series of well-composed buildings, carefully arranged to maximise access to light, air, and green space.

A simplified material palette draws inspiration directly from the local material language while refined ornamentation and thoughtful detailing elevate the appearance of the buildings.

To optimise amenity and openness, we reconfigured block footprints to increase ground-level green space. The eastern entrance is reimagined as a welcoming threshold, bringing together a new community centre, play areas, and a dedicated cycle hub, connecting residents to landscape, activity, and each other.

We’re now focused on working closely with residents to co-design the community centre in detail and help bring this long-envisioned space to life. Working alongside existing community groups, including Delve Youth Club and Make Space for Girls, our design team is shaping an inclusive, flexible hub that reflects the needs and aspirations of the Friary Park community.

Shaped through over 700 hours of engagement with local residents, this final phase reflects shared aspirations and delivers a more inclusive, welcoming place to live.
