Shawn Adams, Outreach Lead at HTA Design, speaks with Bespoke Careers Podcast about democratising architectural language, founding POoR Collective, and the value of co-design.

Shawn is an architect who has created a unique space in the industry. He strips back the fuss of language and presents design in a way that is accessible and joyful. Shawn co-founded POoR Collective out of a desire to give young people the opportunity to learn outside of school time and empower them to pursue their interests. Having grown up attending youth clubs, he saw the value in the shared donation of time that comes from these environments.
POoR now works with young people across London to co-design murals, exhibitions, and pavilions – giving young people the opportunity to design spaces that sit within their environment.
