The Glassworks has been shortlisted for the 2025 Brick Awards in the Large Housing Development category

25 Jun 2025

The Glassworks is the latest addition to the Greenford Quay masterplan, providing 354 build-to-rent homes as part of an 8.23-hectare regeneration of a former industrial site along the Grand Union Canal in Ealing.

The building’s character is defined by its expressive brick architecture, which draws inspiration from Greenford’s industrial heritage and the adjacent Grade II-listed Glaxo House. A carefully composed brick façade, using Ibstock Capital Brown Multi Stock and Stuart Buff, adds depth, rhythm and warmth to the elevations, reinforcing a sense of permanence and identity.

The Glassworks sits within a broader masterplan that will ultimately deliver over 2,100 homes, alongside retail, workspace, and public realm. Key features such as podium gardens, a new pedestrian bridge, and canal-side spaces reflect the project’s ambition to connect people with nature and community.
