Ten Degrees delivered by Tide Construction for Greystar is shortlisted in the Built Category. The redevelopment of the former Essex House at 100a George Street delivers the world’s tallest modular building, reusing a brownfield site that had been vacant for over 30 years. The pioneering development will provide a much-needed range of homes right in the heart of Croydon. HTA’s architecture and interior design teams worked in an integrated manner to ensure that the building’s aesthetics were coherent in every aspect and level of detail.
Filwood Park for Barratt Homes is shortlisted in the Built Category. Part of the Knowle West Regeneration Framework developed by Bristol City Council with the HCA, Filwood Park is a project of 150 quality homes for residents. The site is part of a broader regeneration plan for the neighbourhood, helping to increase opportunities for new shops and businesses. Working closely with Barratt and the residents, HTA focused on delivering affordable houses that stand out with a contemporary palette and distinctive identity.
Beech Tree Place for Sutton Council is shortlisted in the Projects Category. The scheme will create 92 quality, net-zero, dual and triple aspect homes designed with a distinctive sense of character between a Grade II* Listed church and a Heritage Action Zone. The site is in Sutton’s adopted Local Plan (2018) for regeneration. HTA undertook a co-design Options Appraisal with the existing older residents in 2020, leading to a majority of support for complete redevelopment. The current residents were able to shape their new homes, the elevation and the landscape. The co-design workshops led by HTA focused on residents’ key issues, such as accessibility, wayfinding, storage, daylight, ventilation, underfloor heating, renewable energy, and contact with nature.
It’s a fantastic shortlist this year and HTA are very much looking forward to the award ceremony this summer to learn more about the stellar projects in the running.
