We are thrilled to announce that HTA have received four shortlists in the 2021 Planning Awards!

Dunton Hills Garden Village Supplementary Planning Document - stakeholder engagement in planning

The co-design process adopted in the development of the Dunton Hills SPD was a highly innovative and interactive process utilised as part of an evidence gathering process. The findings of the engagement process are not only reflected in the SPD, but have shaped the production of the design guide from its onset. The continued collaboration with the various stakeholders, rising to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, has ensured that the SPD reflect the aspirations of the community and will ensure the development of an exemplar garden village which truly reflects the aspirations of the community.

Rooftop and infill development at Antony and Roderick Houses, Southwark - planning for increased housing delivery

In 2016, HTA and Apex Airspace published joint research on the potential for rooftop development in; London’s Rooftops: Potential to Deliver Housing. This report primarily focused on the potential for airspace delivery across London, and through continued belief in this approach forward, HTA has supported Apex in the delivery of Antony and Roderick House in Bermondsey. HTA provided in-depth design and planning feasibility study of the site constraints and opportunities in relation to the changing environment. This identified not only the potential for a rooftop development, but also infill opportunities to maximise housing delivery and opportunities to provide benefits to existing tenants. The scheme will deliver 30 affordable homes for Lambeth & Southwark Housing Association (LSHA).

West Green Place N17 - Best use of brownfield land in placemaking (submitted by Pocket Living)

West Green Place creates a new street with a generous public realm and entrance square opening up access to the greenery of Downhills Park while offering purpose built community facilities. HTA Design designed the project from concept to completion creating 126 new homes. The scheme is the first Pocket development to offer two-bedroom flats for sale at a discounted rate, whilst 80% of homes overall meet the GLA’s definition of affordable. In addition to these Pocket discounted flats there are 12 open-market two-bedroom flats and 16 three-bedroom family townhouses, ensuring that the new development benefits from a diverse community that accommodates families.
