Nerea approached to develop Harlow and Gilston Garden Town visual communication

Nerea Bermejo Olaizola was approached to develop the Harlow and Gilston Garden Town (HGGT) narrative into a visual diagram in order to spatially communicate the Garden Town vision and celebrate the area’s existing identity and ambitious future.

It aims to depict HGGT in a clear, easy to interpret and informal way, through one overarching image, with the potential to drill down into wider HGGT themes and geographic areas. The mapping process should provide scope to generate focussed images on themes such as sustainable travel, healthy places, etc. for use in various publicity materials alongside the current visual branding, and to be easily understood by the public.

The diagram should capture the key features of existing Harlow, and aspirations of the proposed Garden Towns. We want to promote sustainability, healthy lifestyles, landscaping, and the arts (particularly sculpture, which was an integral part of the Gibberd vision.
