Pro Landscape Business Awards 2022

We are delighted to share that Maylim and HTA have been shortlisted at this year's Pro Landscaper Business Awards for the Industry Collaboration category.

Since 2018 Maylim and HTA Design LLP have been working collaboratively to design and execute a significant and ongoing public realm scheme at Greenford Quay for Greystar. The project's first phase was completed in 2020, with Maylim securing a BALI Principal Award. In the same year, HTA were finalists in the Landscape Institute and New London Architecture Awards. The successful collaboration between Maylim and HTA has continued into the second phase, which commenced in May 2021.

Following the phase one contract award by Greystar in 2018, Maylim appointed HTA to deliver RIBA Stages 4-6 and produce detailed construction information to realise the Employers Requirements. This decision assured that HTA vision for the project was carried from its conception to the implemented scheme. This approach required both organisations to work collaboratively, with HTA supporting Maylim in delivering several highly technical components, including flue screens, amphitheatre granite, water feature and associated plant room, railings, and paving layouts. Throughout developing these complex design packages, Maylim drew on collective expertise and knowledge from past projects whilst also liaising with wider industry experts within the supply chain to draw on their specialist expertise. As part of this exercise, the technical details were reviewed against the design intent through an iterative process between Maylim, HTA and the Client until all issues were resolved.

The combined expertise of both organisations has created an award-winning public realm scheme that is not constrained by, or a product of, its technical and budgetary constraints. Both Maylim and HTA endeavour to continue this momentum, providing a platform for promoting careers in the industry and the value and benefit that the high-quality public realm provides people and nature.
