South Quay Plaza officially tops out

South Quay Plaza, located at South Dock in the Isle of Gods, will be the tallest residential building in London once complete in 2022. HTA Landscape were appointed by Berkeley Homes to design and deliver the 1.78 ha of public realm and several roof terraces.

Large tree planting and extensive soft landscape provide a park atmosphere for residents and workers, a green oasis in the wider Isle of Dogs. Extensive tree planting is proposed on all four elevations of the terraces in order to green the visual breaks within the facade. Each terrace has a different theme including an outdoor gym and spa, the Bamboo Sanctuary, external workspace the i garden, and a sky meadow.

The scheme consists of three residential towers at 68, 54 and 36 storeys designed by Foster + Partners with a 45-degree architectural rotation allowing more light to reach the landscaped public realm.
