Planning Approval for Winstanley & York Phase 0

The regeneration of the Winstanley and York Road estates took another big step forward last night with the unanimous approval of the first planning application submitted by the Wandsworth Council and Taylor Wimpey JV company. The scheme, designed jointly by architects from HTA Design LLP, Henley Halebrown and Figure Ground with landscape architects Farrer Huxley, will deliver 138 new homes, purpose built premises for a popular and expanding local college and a replacement chapel.

A relocated, multi-use games area is also incorporated within the scheme with associated planting and public realm improvements. A comprehensive masterplan and detailed phase for the rest of the area's regeneration is due to be submitted to planning later in the summer and the team were delighted that this early phase received the support of the entire committee, reflecting the general support for the proposals across the borough and the wider community.
