Senior Chartered Landscape Architect

As part of the growing landscape architecture team now based in Scotland, James has been involved in the design and delivery of a range of residential, educational and public realm schemes in both England and Scotland. Recent projects include; Millbay Phase A1& A2, Castleward Phase 1, Saffron Square, Mill 0’Mains. In addition to this James has been working closely with the architects and other senior landscape team members based in Edinburgh in order to secure landscape work based in Scotland.

Prior to joining HTA James studied landscape architecture at Edinburgh College of Art. In advance of, and during his studies he also worked at Audley End Victorian Organic Kitchen Garden. Here he gained a significant understanding of Victorian/Contemporary cultivation techniques as well as some knowledge of Historic landscape restoration.

Whilst working at HTA, James has worked on several significant large scale housing developments. These include the day-to-day running of the jobs and the production of drawing packages, for the following:

  • Millbay Phase 1
  • Castleward Phase 1
  • Saffron Square
  • Castleward Phase 1
  • Osprey Quay
  • Mill o’Mains Phase 3
  • Aylesbury Estate Regeneration


James is currently working on the day-to-day running of the Millbay A2 project and the production of the drawing packages. The initial design stage for Millbay C3. Assisting in the coordination of stage 3 package of drawings for Plot 18 (Second phase of the Aylesbury Estate Regeneration) and securing planning for Prospect Ring.
