Jane joined HTA in 1997. Together with Sue and Zarah, Jane manages all aspects of the kitchen at HTA with the help of two wonderful assistants, including ordering of fresh produce and dried products, stock control of the storeroom, liaising with the studio manager and other staff for meetings and special requirements. Jane organises and prepares delicious healthy lunches for the staff at HTA, two days a week. Jane continues to add to and develop her range of lunches while keeping a close eye on the budget!
Jane has a background in fine art and juggles part time work at HTA with a developing career as a glass artist. She is building up a portfolio of projects and commissions, combining this with working towards exhibitions and competitions.
Jane won the 2012 Stevens Competition, run by The Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass. The brief was for a window in St Michaels Hospice in Hereford being built by Architype Architects. Richard Williams, formerly of HTA made her an excellent visualisation for her winning design. Jane has recently had her work chosen to tour with The British Society of Master Glass Painters (BSMGP) who are celebrating their Centenary year.
Jane continued her professional development by gaining a PGCE in Post-Compulsory Education at UCL IOE and now teaches Glasswork on a part time basis at Adult Learning Lewisham and The Art Academy London while maintaining her own practice and her two days with HTA.
