Simon is a chartered town planner and chartered surveyor with extensive experience in the fields of town planning, development management, acquisition and viability. Simon’s focuses on residential and mixed use developments, both small and large scale, and student accommodation.

Simon has previously advised a wide range of clients whilst working at CB Richard Ellis and Tribal Group and negotiated planning permissions  throughout London and the south east of England. Simon has also worked for developers including Taylor Wimpey and CALA Group, and has managed major development schemes and land acquisition programmes.

Croydon: Simon secured planning permission for the largest modular building in the world – a 44 storey residential building for Greystar/Tide Construction. This building will be a PRS scheme of 546 new apartments, built using an advanced off site construction technique. Simon led the planning negotiations with the London Borough of Croydon and the GLA to secure planning permission for the building. The building includes retail, office and an art gallery in the ground floor commercial areas.

Wembley: Apex House, Felda House and Grand Felda House. Simon has secured planning permission for three buildings of up to 29 storeys providing over 1,800 new student residential units. These projects are delivered by Tide Construction and Vision Modular Systems using highly advanced off-site techniques. Apex House is a 29 storey building completed in a year using this construction methodology, and has created 560 student rooms with communal facilities located around a landscaped courtyard.

Hammersmith: Simon secured planning permission for a six storey, 300 unit student accommodation building in a conservation area for Greystar/Tide Construction.

Woking: HTA Planning work with Thameswey Group to deliver new homes in Woking, and is working on a range of projects including a new 34 storey residential building in the town centre, an 18 storey student/co-living building and a large 1000 unit regeneration project.Castleward, Derby: Simon acted as planning consultant to Compendium Group, a joint venture between Lovell and Riverside Housing. The Castleward development is a major regeneration scheme in the centre of Derby, which will include over 800 mixed tenure residential units, retail and other commercial units at ground floor level The scheme will include a new primary school and community centre for local people and new residents, and investment in recreation and open space in the area.

Simon led the planning application and subsequent successful appeal for Southern Housing Group for the redevelopment of a former hostel site in Islington with the development of 50 unit mixed tenure residential scheme. The key issues at appeal included : appropriate viability and affordable housing, and design, scale and massing.

Simon helps manage the team that has delivered over 400 new homes in Islington for the Borough’s housing management team.

Enfield: Simon secured planning permission for the redevelopment of a large green belt site for Hadley Property Group to deliver over 100 new homes in a number of phases.
