Greenford Quay is the first large scale UK scheme for US Build to Rent operator Greystar. It will  create c.2,000 new homes along with retail, commercial and amenity space focused around the Grand Union Canal.

Block 5 - ‘Tillermans’ is the first building to be built and delivers 379 apartments, along with resident amenities that include lounges, a private dining room and bar, gym, games room, dog washing facilities, cinema and large outdoor courtyards and roof terrace.

The building is facilitated by a concierge at all times and a generous, welcoming entrance space ensures a grand entrance to the building. The double height lobby is overlooked by a mezzanine lounge and co-working space, with additional commercial spaces allocated along the canal side frontage.

Our role has been to design and specify a full interior design package of works, from an early design inherited from the concept team at Woods Bagot, through to final detailing. We have visualised each communal space using 3D renders and textured illustrative elevations to test and trial materials, finishes and look at how the spaces work from a user point of view - both residents and staff.

The interior concept is derived from the theme ‘eclectic industrial’ reflecting both the site’s heritage and the incoming community demographic, with materials, furniture and finishes aligned to the theme. The colour and texture palettes remains largely industrial, with deep tones, walnut timber and painted out dark ceilings. There are touches of colour to balance the industrial aesthetic, with greens and pinks throughout, leading from the entrance lobby mosaic flooring, up to the fourteenth floor commercial kitchen, complimented by fabric in the furniture choices throughout the amenity spaces.

The overall aesthetic is further enhanced through the wayfinding strategy, with signage throughout reflecting the building branding and industrial period typefeace.
