I just wanted to say – I was walking through King Square the other day (I was involved in the very early stages of the project) and just wanted to say that I think that the landscape is absolutely lovely.

You have managed to achieve both a gutsy, urban feel (which the existing buildings in particular require) and a beautiful softness – which helps enormously.

Well done and thank you!

Teresa Borsuk, Partner, PTEa

Working closely with the residents, HTA Landscape have designed the public realm enhancements for King Square in combination with new homes by PTE Architects.

The scheme transforms an estate with leftover and poorly used spaces into a place with well-defined tree lined streets and a series of communal courtyards and gardens for the residents. These include a central square, community garden, growing garden as well as courtyards for residents.

Carefully selected planting and trees as well as a coordinated materials palette
blend together to form an attractive and coherent new landscape. The new
landscape spaces specifically respond to the buildings massing and layout,
materials and patterning complement the building elevations.

The first phase was completed on site in autumn 2017 with the second phase due for completion in Summer 2019.
