Located close to the city centre of Perth, the Muirton Estate Masterplan was approved in 2004 and seeks to regenerate the formerly deprived area of Muirton. Phase 5 of this development brings 25 new homes across 0.85Ha and follows on from the success of its previous phases. The delivery of these phases has created distinctive, characterful places to live in and foster a newfound sense of pride amongst the local community.
At the heart of the development’s principles, the regeneration of Muirton Estate is being approached as an extension to the city rather than an isolated estate, removing the stigma previously associated with the area.
In addition, the development will offer high quality landscaped and shared amenity space, which will eliminate high maintenance ‘left over’ space. Following the principles of the overall masterplan, the regeneration will improve the visual and physical links between the development’s main streets and provide clean and safe streets as well as a clear division between private and communal spaces, making the neighbourhood a safer and more enjoyable place. The scheme will also provide access to and have a strong relationship with the proposed community school and running track from Muirton and the rest of Perth.
