Sited at the entrance of the Blackwall Basin One Charter Street will mark the gateway between the Canary Wharf and Wood Wharf. Located between the historical heart of the wharf and the emerging modern glass and steel structures, the building takes design cues from the art deco era which links the two.
The building will provide 279. Serviced apartments together with associated cafes, bars and workspace. At the top of the building will be a Michelin stared restaurant with panoramic views of London.
The striking design references this past whilst adopting modern methods of construction. In particular, the use of modular technology enabled HTA Design to overcome the complexities of the site most effectively and efficiently, while also creating a place sensitive, high quality design.
