One Place, Many Stories

Landscape Design

At the core of the site is a new five-acre park that includes destination play areas inspired by the site’s industrial heritage. This central green space connects to a new West Ham station entrance through a sequence of new civic spaces, including a public piazza, central square, community terraces and amphitheatre.

The masterplan, nearly 50% of which is dedicated to landscape delivers extensive, accessible green space with a strong emphasis on ecological and community value. Berkley is developing a seasonal and culturally diverse programme of events for these spaces in collaboration with local community organisations.

The masterplan includes 1,000+ trees across the site and a habitat mix that ranges from meadows to woodland. Swales, rain gardens, blue roof water storage, and permeable paving have been incorporated into the development to promote sustainable stormwater management.
