Luis Esteves

Arch

Architect

Luis joined HTA in 2020 and has gained extensive experience in residential projects at various stages from initial concept designs through to technical stages.

Luis undertook his architectural studies in Portugal (EAUM) and Italy (IUAV) and finalised his master’s degree in architecture with Honours in 2015. After graduating, he mostly worked on high-end residential projects for the Middle East. Before joining HTA, Luis grounded his experience in the UK by working in the residential and education sectors as a project architect for astudio architects. He was responsible for delivering two modular housing schemes, working across the RIBA stages to completion.

Luis was highly involved in the development of the Kidbrooke Park Road project, in Greenwich. The scheme was designed to achieve net zero carbon, provide a nursery, and deliver 117 new affordable homes. The masterplan was led by a strong public realm strategy, creating a new green link to Cator Park. He worked extensively to deliver and secure unanimous planning approval and to complete the stage 3+ submission.

He is currently leading the redevelopment of subplot 3, an area within the Aylesbury Estate, one of the most significant urban renewal projects in London. The scheme vision adapts the traditional London housing typologies, using a mix of terraced maisonettes and dual aspect apartments ranging from 3-7 storeys. The proposal will deliver 61 homes and transform this area of extraordinary potential stitching it back to the local context.
