Part I Architectural Assistant

Sophie is a part I Architectural Assistant who recently graduated from the University of Nottingham, with a specific interest in masterplanning and placemaking.

Sophie joined HTA as a part I Architectural Assistant in 2021 after graduating from the University of Nottingham with a joint honours degree in architecture and environmental engineering. Her thesis project was a masterplan scheme which looked at creating high quality, customisable, affordable homes. Alongside completing the part I architecture course she is also a student member of CIBSE and has knowledge in building services and housing standards such as LETI and Passivhaus.

Sophie’s key skills include

  • Ability to use 3D modelling software to generate visualisations for proposed schemes
  • Strong graphical skills to create diagrams and images
  • Good ability to work effectively with others and to anticipate the needs of others in relation to project work

Since joining HTA Sophie has worked predominantly on Darwin Green Phase 4 development in Cambridge. This scheme is comprised of residential houses and flat blocks which will provide accommodation for over 350 families. Sophie has played a part in establishing the layout of the masterplan and has created diagrams and models which have been presented to stakeholders since the beginning of the design process.

Sophie has also worked on several bid projects where she has taken responsibility creating diagrams and illustrations for developers.
