West Green Place provides 126 homes along a new street, with generous public realm and an entrance square providing access to the greenery of Downhills Park. Pocket Living’s largest project to date, it presented a complex brief on a challenging site, requiring a thoughtful and highly responsive design approach.
Previously underused, the brownfield site sits between rear gardens and the attractive Downhills Park. HTA developed a scheme that optimises the site, creates a new community and makes the most of its views and connection to the park. The team evolved the proposals in response to Haringey’s requirements, incorporated changes to the site boundaries and built strong support among local neighbours.
