Harry Dodd

MSc Urban Regeneration (The Bartlett, University College London); BSc Property and Urban Development (University of Westminster)

Harry joined HTA in January 2015 as an Assistant Planner.  Since then he has enjoyed growing responsibility and independence (including a promotion to Planner in 2017), and now takes the planning lead on various housing-led and mixed use projects working with both HTA’s ‘in-house’ architects, and external organisations.  Harry has secured permission for multiple historic conversions and change of use applications, taken the planning lead on applications for luxury family homes, and estate in-fill housing developments.

Additionally, Harry has worked on national and local policy consultation responses for clients, contributed towards office-wide ‘bids’ and taken the lead on multiple post-planning projects.  This has ensured his exposure to a breadth of planning issues and concerns, as well as a broad range of clients, from Local Authorities and Housing Associations, to private developers of varying sizes.

In addition to his role at HTA, a one year part-time secondment at Housing Association Opendoor Homes has developed his skill-set and understanding of the development process, from procurement and contracts through to on-site delivery and completion.  This experience has proven extremely useful in his ability and confidence to advise clients of the common pit-falls developers can find themselves in!

Harry graduated from university in 2014 with both RTPI and RICS accredited degrees, giving him a broad academic foundation of the construction industry.  Prior to joining HTA, Harry worked with planning consultancy CgMs, with a focus on retail applications.  He also has experience from Newham Council, in the planning enforcement and appeals team.

Harry’s experience also includes voluntarily community work with a group in 2013, assisting them in preparing their response to a consultation over the HS1/HS2 link through Camden.
