Urban & Estate Regeneration

From our roots as community architects, our experience in estate regeneration spans over four decades and includes projects on estates right across the UK, from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Our projects have ranged from low rise suburban housing to high density and high-rise inner-city estates and involved sustainable renovation, infill and comprehensive redevelopment.  We have worked successfully with funding regimes and to business plans of all kinds, including latterly, cross-subsidy from the private sale of apartments.

We have always understood that transformation of neighbourhoods to create more successful places to live can only be achieved if the views of the community is heard and has influence over the process. Our ‘Assemble & Join’ unit can deploy imaginative techniques for engaging and winning trust amongst stakeholders. We use up to date techniques of engagement and have an excellent track record winning community consent for development.  We are co-authors of Altered Estates, a manual on the art and science of estate regeneration, available to download here.
