Amsterdam Trip

Friday 6th of October saw the latest of our whole office trips, this year to Amsterdam, whereby 212 of us - staff, partners and children - went to see a variety of different enriching Dutch sights. After flying in from various locations on Friday, we all met at our amazing hotel for some late night drinks and a catch up.

Saturday welcomed us with typical British weather but despite the rain, the day was full of inspirational architecture and design related sights. From architectural landmarks, galleries, exhibitions and a variety of housing, everyone saw something different, whether from a bicycle, train, tuk tuk or Segway. Other tours included bike tours to custom build housing in Almere; windmills, cheese & clogs, Dam Square and the Eastern Habour.

We all met up again on Saturday evening for an amazing dinner and drinks at the pop-up restaurant in an old gas station, Baut, well known for its owner Michiel van der Eerde who appears in Amsterdam’s version of MasterChef. The meal was a great chance to share stories of the day and plan activities for Sunday.

Sunday was a bit more low key: a chance to catch any sights we’d missed on Saturday and to relax a bit before the return flights later that evening. Between learning about innovative architecture and design, soaking up one of the world’s most creative cities, and getting to know our colleagues, a brilliant time was had by all.
