HTA win Sustainability Architect of the Year Award

We have won the Sustainability Architect of the Year Award in the BD AYA Awards 2020.

This award recognises architects who have made an outstanding contribution to furthering a more sustainable built environment. Your entry should include one built project completed in the year to 1 December 2019 and a minimum of 1 other project either built or unbuilt. No more than four projects, in total, should be submitted and built projects should have been completed in the past three years. Projects from any sector can be entered and one project may be international. Among other things, the judges will be looking for evidence of all-round design excellence and fitness for purpose over a body of work. The size of the projects featured will not be a factor in their deliberations.

HTA Design LLP have a separate unit within the practice to develop and lead on the practices approach to sustainable design, provide services to clients on energy, daylight, overheating, prefabrication, and to manage sustainability certification. The team monitors and manages our ISO 14001 certification across our four offices. In recent years, despite a governmental side-lining of sustainable architecture we have continued to successfully offer these services to all of our clients and have won projects at different scales and types across the UK.

In other projects we are helping large industrial clients develop prefabrication systems that will radically change the way we build buildings, moving most labour off sites into clean factories, reducing embodied energy and improving the life quality for construction workers.

HTA are signatories of the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge and Architects’ Declare.
