Moredunvale Park Projection

HTA are working in collaboration with Anderson Bell Christie Architects and artists WAVEparticle on proposals to improve an existing greenspace at Moredunvale for the City of Edinburgh Council.

The project will rejuvenate an existing 5 hectare greenspace to create an exciting new neighbourhood park. The project will improve accessibility within the park, provide play opportunities for a wide range of age groups, introduce new tree and meadow planting, and provide gathering spaces from which to enjoy uninterrupted views to Arthur’s Seat.

A steering group including representatives from the local community and the city council has been set up to guide the project.

A week long artist-led consultation event led by WAVEparticle was held during the Summer of 2022. The artists were on the site for the whole week, carrying out workshops and speaking with local people about the project.

Through this engagement work and working with the steering group, the team has been able to establish a range of priority park improvements.

This has led to the creation of a conceptual masterplan and visuals to illustrate the ideas of the local community. The initial consultation and design work culminated in an exciting engagement event recently where the work was projected onto the side of some of the tower blocks that border the site. The projections were spectacular and were a very effective way of raising awareness for the project. Watch this space for further updates!
