Planning Permission Granted for Meridian Water Phase 1B
HTA and Hawkins\Brown have been working collaboratively to design and deliver the first homes within Enfield Council’s development of Meridian Water. ‘Meridian One’, delivered by Vistry Partnerships, will comprise a mixed-use development of 977 homes, of which 50% will be affordable. These will be delivered within five development parcels, defined by mixed-use landmark buildings and a series of public spaces will link these to create one cohesive neighbourhood within a verdant parkland.
With Phase 1A currently on site, HTA and Hawkins Brown are thrilled to obtain planning on Phase 1B (Plots B,C & D) which encompasses 676 new homes, ground floor commercial space, leisure facilities and a health centre. The proposals will complete phase 1 of this masterplan and have been developed through a thorough engagement process with the London Borough of Enfield’s planning department, Design Review Panel, Design Advisory Group, the Greater London Authority and the local community.
Colin Ainger, Partner at HTA Design, said, ‘This approval paves the way for the next milestone in the transformation of Meridian Water; creating a new, cohesive, green neighbourhood for the residents of Enfield. The design for this phase, developed in equal collaboration between HTA and our friends at Hawkins \ Brown Architects, exemplifies our ethos to deliver landscape-led regeneration at scale to deliver fantastic new homes set within an environmentally sensitive, ecologically enhanced new public realm - bringing nature home. We look forward to seeing the new place come to life to offer a wonderful resource for local people to enjoy.’
