295 Holloway Road is one of the many modular construction buildings that HTA has worked on along with Tide Construction. The building houses 257 student accommodation units over 13 storeys.
Originally designed by CZWG architects and approved by Islington, HTA faced an exciting challenge in terms of completely changing the external materials and the internal floor plans, whilst retaining the composition of the building’s volume and position of windows.
Externally, non-combustible handset brick was proposed for the lower building and vertically stacked 365 long corium tiles were proposed for the taller building. Internally the floor plans are rationalised to provide an additional 4 units per floor as well as an increase of 11.5% in the size of all units.
HTA was appointed on the project in June 2017 and the first students moved in in September 2018. The project programme from planning to completion lasted only 15 months.
