We love a good catchphrase at HTA. Some accompany us for years, whilst others sum up our aspiration for the work we do; are trying to do; and hope to do in the future.

And so at the end of September, 150 staff members, some of their partners and kids set off for a weekend expedition to Barcelona with Jan Gehl's phrase "First life, then spaces, then buildings--the other way around never works" ringing in our ears.

Queen Elizabeth Children's Hospital

This week saw the start on site of construction at our project at the former Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children in Tower Hamlets. Richard Blakeway, Deputy Mayor for Housing, Land and Property, joined our team to celebrate the start of construction on  the188 new homes.

Work began on the site this summer and will continue until the completion of the project in 2017, including retaining and refurbishing the original historic façade on Hackney Road.
